There are countless options for advertising your brand in the world. Online, outdoor, and more options exist to help increase your company’s visibility. Your target audience is only a marketing campaign away from hearing of your services. Of these options, two of the most prominent are billboards and TV.
Marketing on the television
The practice of placing ads on television has been around for ages. Some of the most memorable moments in TV have come from landmark commercials. Take, for example, the famed Superbowl commercial slots. The cost for such ads are astronomical, and rightfully so. Millions of people tune in to such events, demonstrating their true ad value.
But, this may not ring true for all TV-based ads. In fact, the shift to on-demand, home-accessible content has grown a great deal in recent years. More and more, people are paying subscriptions for ad-free content. Or at the very least, content that doesn’t rely as much on ads. This means less eyes on daytime commercials.
The resilience of outdoor advertising
Unlike with television, the trends of transportation are not as likely to fluctuate. Even in a post-pandemic world, people are still traveling the streets and highways. That means they are still being exposed to outdoor media.
A well placed, well designed billboard in a large city can generate in the hundreds of thousands of views. The more memorable, the better. Regardless of the current climate, outdoor media remains an effective means of marketing. That’s where we come in.

Hi, I’m Jason Sirotin. And today I’m speaking with Bill Hobbs, who is the owner and proprietor, managing director, everything, of Effortless Outdoor Media, which is a outdoor media advertising placement company. Bill, why do you say billboard rather than TV?
Speaker 2:
Well, the great thing about billboards versus TV, is that number one, I don’t know about most people, but I have a DVR where I record shows. So I never listened to commercials. I just fast forward through the commercials. And then with billboards, it’s the kind of thing where TV, there’s a million different stations. With the billboard, if people are driving down the road, if you have a good location with good copy, they’re going to see your location and you can’t turn it off. It’s something that’s unavoidable unless you stay home and do nothing then you’re not going to see a billboard. But the other times, and that’s the reason why billboards are so effective because the fact that people do see it and then they also, most people go the same way to work every day. So they’re driving by the billboard as much as 20 times a month.
